Garmin® Unveils the aera® 796 and 795 Portable Touchscreen Aviation Navigators with 3D Vision

As Garmin’s new flagship portable aviation product, the aera 796 incorporates the popular features of the GPSMAP® 696, while also adding new capabilities such as a touchscreen user interface, pilot-selectable screen orientation and 3D Vision. The aera 796 also takes the pilot one step closer to a paperless cockpit with a digital document viewer, scratch pad and pre-loaded geo-referenced AeroNav IFR and VFR enroute charts. The aera 796 and 795 will be on display and available for purchase at AOPA Aviation Summit in Hartford, Conn., September 22-24, 2011.
New Autopilot Interfaces Available for Garmin® G600 and G500
OLATHE, Kan./September 22, 2011 — Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), the global leader in satellite navigation, today announced new autopilot interfaces for the G600 and G500 flight displays, providing compatibility with the S-TEC DFCS autopilot and gyro emulation for the Century autopilot.
This new upgrade for the S-TEC DFCS 2100/1500 autopilot allows the G600 and G500 to provide AHRS/ADC inputs, perform heading bug coupling, NAV/GPSS coupling and full approach capability, including ILS and LPV precision approaches. This allows for the removal of older attitude sources for the DFCS 2100/1500 with the installation of dual G600 or G500 systems.
